Massachusetts Substance Abuse Helpline

The Massachusetts Substance Abuse Helpline is the only statewide, public resource for finding licensed and approved substance use treatment and recovery services. Our goal is to give you the information and treatment referrals that are right for you. We refer to hundreds of treatment services funded or licensed by the MA Department of Public Health. We don’t sell anything and we don’t operate any treatment programs.

Massachusetts Learn to Cope, at each meeting and on the forum, individuals gain knowledge from others that often comes from experiences they have had in their own family and the camaraderie of members who become friends. Families come to our meetings broken and leave a bit stronger. At each meeting our trained facilitators help support and strengthen our members. They learn strategies which sometimes result in long term recovery for their loved ones

Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR)

Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR) is a voice for all people seeking the benefits of recovery. We are committed to doing the work necessary to address the struggles and inequities diverse groups of people face while seeking recovery services. Systemic racism, prejudice, and bias have been deeply ingrained in the history of the American health care system. MOAR is committed to work to create a collective voice for those seeking recovery for all people who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and oppressed.

Center for Strategic Prevention Support (CSPS)

The Center for Strategic Prevention Support (CSPS) provides technical assistance (TA) and resources to Massachusetts communities seeking to prevent and reduce the misuse of alcohol and other drugs. Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), CSPS offers BSAS-funded programs the supports they need to implement and sustain effective prevention programming. Our expert team of TA liaisons are well-versed in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration’s Strategic Prevention Framework, a five-step process that communities can use to guide their prevention planning efforts.

Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative

The Police Assisted Addiction & Recovery Initiative (PAARI) provides training, strategic guidance, support, and resources to help law enforcement agencies nationwide create non-arrest pathways to treatment and recovery. Recognizing that law enforcement has a front row seat to the opioid epidemic and are in a unique position to prevent overdose deaths.

Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Substance Use Prevention and Intervention The department of elementary and secondary education, in consultation with the department of public health, shall provide guidance and recommendations to assist schools with developing and implementing effective substance use prevention and abuse education policies and shall make such guidance and recommendations publicly available on the department’s website.
